The impact of COVID-19 on apprenticeships: The role of regions and cities

The webinar has been held on 29 September from 10.30 to 12. European cities and regions, discussing the impact of the pandemic on apprenticeship policies. The online event is organized by the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) and the European Commission of the Regions (CoR). Among the speakers, the Mayor of the Metropolitan City of Rome, Virginia Raggi, as representative of european metropolitan cities. His speech focused on three basic points: how the Metropolitan City of Rome faced to the emergency, turning the crisis into an opportunity; what are future plannings to create new paths of matching between professional training, apprenticeship and job opportunities, reinforcing the metropolitan city role as a connector and “matchmaker” between various actors; what is the future for vocational training and apprenticeships, into a more resilient context of cities and rounding areas.
